About NetSignNews

Deaf Broadcast Network, LLC and NetSignNews.com

Deaf Broadcast Network, LLC, CEO Kit Patrick Corson is a California native with a Degree in the Behavioral Sciences from the University of San Francisco. As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), his experience and knowledge of Deaf culture and his skills as an expert ASL signer provide the foundation for many of his communications related projects.  He is a multiple Emmy Award and Governor’s Award-winning TV and film producer.  He is also the inventor of the world’s first portable electronic terminal, the MCM, which revolutionized deaf telecommunications.  From 1993 to 2007 he was the CEO of Network Arizona, providing interpreting and deaf advocacy services for corporate clients in Southern Arizona.

Since the beginning of 2007, Deaf Broadcast Network, LLC has developed and produced NetSignNews.com to provide an integrated portal for International, National, and Deaf Community news and information for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, who communicate in American Sign Language (ASL). Voice-over narration is provided for hearing family, friends, and colleagues who use or wish to learn ASL.  NetSignNews.com is home to deaf and hearing talent and staff who write and produce the show, including news and video from The Associated Press.  Opinion and discussion forums and the deaf news issues program “Talk About It” make NetSignNews.com a full resource for its viewers.

Since the beginning of 2008, NetSignNews.com has consistently logged visitors (sessions) from over 60 countries around the world.  Since the launch of its new format and enhanced programming in April, sessions, page views, and hits have continued to increase dramatically.

It is estimated that there are 2 million ASL users in the United States alone, and ASL is one of the most commonly used languages in the United States.  The World Health Organization states that there are 278 million people worldwide who have moderate to profound hearing loss in both ears.  The World Federation of the Deaf represents 70 million people.  The National Institute on Deafness says that 2 to 3 out of every 1000 children are born deaf, with 9 out of 10 born to hearing parents.

Deaf people want and need the same products and services that all people want.  Becoming a sponsor or advertiser with NetSignNews.com is a way to reach new customers and do something good for the world at the same time, and NetSignNews.com can produce your materials in ASL.
