May 03, 2008: 11:43 PMI feel so insulted by this. Not only is the airline saying that at the time they needed an interpreter, but the interpreter should be a paid passenger. If the airline sets a policy for deaf passengers, then I believe the airline should accommodate the passengers. And as for a safety precaution about communication being an issue, I wonder, do the airlines have a policy for a spanish or French speaking person, whom only uses that particular language? It is certaily not a policy that I have heard of or seen. I think this airline does not have enough knowledge of understanding about deaf people. We can read, write and communicate. I would sue this airline, unless they can assure me that a deaf person has just as much as a right to fly as a hearing person.
