That is an inaccurate statistic. Please post your source. State employment offices report about 67%.

It is now rated over 95% that those Deaf people are not employed! Get your statistic facts right, please.

Thank you for making this good, saddening story about "Unemployment Rates in the Deaf Community". Those insights about how difficult for each deaf job seeker made me very sad because the hearing companies do not understand the Deaf issue, ASL issue and interpreter issue. I believe that average deaf American is being frustrated and have hard time to find any job due to each American companies refuse to allow deaf people to work and do have lock of understanding of deaf culture. Why not National Association of the Deaf (or NAD) could encouraging the federal government to pass a law that will make every hearing companies to allow the deaf people to work, create partnership with Chamber of Commerce, and other business/workforce development-related organizations to solving the four biggest problems for millions of deaf job seekers and break down the communication barriers between hearing and deaf people in the workforce and encouraging the federal government to set up the American with Disabilities Act (or ADA) Task Force offices to make sure all the hearing companies are educated about the Disabled Americans, start to hiring the disabled people, and allow the disabled people to work for their life? We, Deafies, need to be outspoken or raise our voices to make National Association of the Deaf, state organizations for the deaf, federal government, state government, local government, Chamber of Commerce, other business/workforce-related organizations, and hearing companies listen on the unemployment rate for Deaf Americans and our problem in finding a good, equal job to foster our life and support ourselves.
